traded in my iPhone to Apple online store 7 months ago.
didn't realize this until this morning, but I was still getting billed $9.99/month for AppleCare+
On my Apple Card, there are seven $9.99(plus tax) charges. I somehow missed it when I "glance" through my monthly Apple Card statements. Not that it's a valid defense, but I have roughly 100 to 200 transactions on Apple Card per month, including 11 other small charges from Apple for Apple Care or device payment plans on other devices and 2 iCloud subscriptions) so that was probably why I failed to see that one charge.
as soon as I got the money from the trade in from Apple, I should have immediately cancelled Apple Care but i had a lot on my plate at the time, so it escaped my mind.
if I call Apple support now, is there any chance of getting a refund on the $76 back?($9.99 x 7 + tax) I'm at an airport waiting for my flight after a 5-hour delay due to weather issues... I was bored out of my mind, so I started looking at my Apple Card statements for fun.. which was how I discovered it. So I guess I have to thank mother nature and the airline?
thanks!
Edit: just remembered a similar thin happened to me almost 10 years ago. Here's what I posted in an insurance forum asking for help back then: (only bored people should continue reading beyond this point)
I returned a car to Toyota after the lease ended. The dealer gave me the keys on a new leased car and I drove off. When I got home, I called GEICO and had them put the new leased car on my policy. I also forgot to tell them to removed the returned leased vehicle from my policy. That got automatically billed until I saw it on there at the next renewal 6 months later. GEICO did refund me, but it took a month and 5 phone calls. GEICO apparently could access a database to see where that car was re-registered again or added to a policy at GEICO or any other auto insurance company... unfortunately, the problem was that the returned leased car ended being sold to Poland, of all place, within 1 months of me returning it to Toyota... which meant that no US database had any info on its status. [not sure why Toyota Financial(USA) would sell returned cars from the US to Poland or any other country, fo that matter] It took multiple phone calls with Toyota Financial to finally figure it out and for GEICO to refund me. They were great!
