So my Mac mini 2011 is not supporting Mojave looks like. I have other devices like a windows 10 laptop so I am not worried. But just though it was funny and I would share. I know there is always eBay. But sometimes I have had bad dealings with others on eBay. So I went to apples website and put in my serial number. I know you never get what you fully paid for something or even half is a lot to ask. But 35 dollars is a joke. 35 dollars for a fully working free of defects and power cord included Mac mini 2011 is not fair. How can they be so cheap? At least 100 or 150 would of been nice. Oh well. I have other devices so I am in no hurry to upgrade. Just thought I would share.

Depends on RAM, chip, storage and time. The fact that it won’t run Mojave has got to be a major factor. Also what it cost you has got to factor in. I just got $440 for a late 2013 iMac with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD, with the more expensive Apple Keyboard. I paid around $2500. Also factor in shipping and package costs and insurance. You have to cover that when using eBay.

It was $530 brand new from frys in june or july of 2012. But 35 is too low. Bestbuy is giving 88 dollars.

Check out https://www.macmeanoffer.com . I don't know which model you have exactly, but it looks like you can get $100+ for most models.

2011 2.3ghz 8gb ram. That site said 180 wow.

It's a good site. I sold my old Mac Mini there about a year ago so I can vouch for them. They offered me more than anyone on this site's Marketplace forum did.

Or bestbuy is giving 88 dollars for my mini. And 304.20 for my dads 2011 macbook pro. So almost 400 dollars.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-...00gb-hard-drive-white/7814097.p?skuId=7814097.

And there is a open box for 439 dollsrs and 99 cents. So only 46 dollars andn79 cents out of pocket.

But 1.4 ghz vs 2.3 and only 4gb ram. I have 8gb ram.

If mojave runs on 4gb its ok. But future might not. But 8gb is a lot. Its soldered now so I will be stuck with 4gb. I wish they kept the user replacable ram. So it will be hoping 10.15 or 10.16 does not require more than 4gb ram.

Its email and web for now nothing fancy. And maybe photos. But veiwing only. No editing. And maybe watching some netflix or youtube.

That will do on 1.4ghz / 4gb. Or is that too slow.

How old is this machine you plan to purchase. How long would you like it to last? If your objective is to run Mojave, I would post in the Mojave forum. People who are beta testing Mojave should have a good idea about machine configuration and requirements, relative to length of ownership. I am skeptical about the viability of the machine.

They are selling at $200 to $250 on eBay. I can understand why Apple is buying so low. They probably will never resell it. Just toss it in the recycling. It's probably too old for them to bother with. Just offering a token amount to subsidize your next Mac.

Well the 2014 mini is already 4 years old. Rumors of a new mini is coming out soon and a new low cost mackbook pro or air. But no word on cost. I will wait and see. Then decide. The new minis are geared toward pros so it might cost more. If its the same 499 I will just get that. If it 599 or 699 or 799 I will skip it.

Just saw on bestbuy there is a mac mini 2014 i5 2.6 8gb ram white fair open box for 559. That is a good deal. Chances are a new 2018 mini aimed at pros as many articles are saying is probably not going to be 500. Probably more like 1000. So 559 is a good deal? Every though its 4 years old.

Thanks for all your help deciding. I went ahead and got a new mini today from bestbuy. 2014 mini not 18 which is still rumored. But new to me. Open box 601 100 dollars off. Excellent condition. Like new. 2.6ghz i5 8gb ram. 8 is enough for me. I traded in my 2011 mid Mac min for 88 dollars and my dads late 2011 MacBook Pro for 304 dollars. I backed up everything first and then reinstalled the os. So no worries. I paid 368.98 with apple care plus for 3 years after tradeins. Bestbuy only sell apple care plus. But originally 699 plus 100 for apple care. So 800 dollar machine plus tax. So almost half off not a bad deal. And with apple care even if they obsolete the 2014 mini I am still covered for 3 years. So not a bad deal.

Just checked bestbuys website and the MacBook 2011 I traded in is only worth 243 now fair condition. And 270 good like new. And I scored 304 fair and good was 30 more. So I got in just in the nick of time. So 61 would of been lost if I waited. Except my 2011 mini was 88 dollars. Now the value is 94 some how. How weird. But only 6 dollars. So still 55 dollars ahead.
