I recently traded in two iPhones (7+ and iPhone X) for two IPhone 13 Pros. The X had a cracked back. The rep at the Verizon store offered me $800 for the X. She said that the cracked back would have no effect on the value of the trade in. I was shocked. I verified this with the manager. However, I was unable to obtain any paperwork indicating that the X with the cracked back wouldn’t create any issues in getting $800 for the trade in.

Well the 7+ has already processed and the trade in credit was applied to my account a week ago. The X is still pending. Therefore I’m worried that the cracked back is an issue. Has anyone else been able to trade in a device with a cracked back and received the full amount for the trade in? Thanks in advance for any input.

At this stage all you can do is wait and worry. You’ll find out the verdict soon enough. Whatever you do, don’t call to get its status.

Maybe condition doesn't matter. You had to agree to 30 months of credits and upgrade to a high tier unlimited plan right (unless your already on the required plan)?

Weird thing is that the email I received from VZ after starting the trade-in for the 7+ broke down the amount of credit over 24 months. The email I received for the Iphone X states trade-in is $800 and didn't break it down to 24 months. I received these emails at the time of purchasing the two 13 Pros and before I sent in the 7+ and Iphone X. I traded in three phones last year and it took me months and at least 15 hours on the phone or on hold trying to get my trade in amount. The manager was adamant that the cracked back would not be an issue and that I would still get the $800 trade-in. Fingers crossed I guess.

You'll be fine. I was under the assumption that 24 months was for the 13mini /13 and 30 months for 13 Pro/13 Pro Max.. Anyway enjoy your new phones they're a nice upgrade to both phones you traded in!

That manager was correct…Verizon’s trade in program this year was really generous, letting people trade in broken phones, as long as there was no battery damage. Traded in my X also with cracked front screen and tons of scratches on the side and back…my projected next bill is already showing with the first credit being applied on my Verizon app: full $800 credits being applied over 24 months

Give them a few days…got the email from Verizon 6 days after my trade in was delivered to them in Texas saying that phone was received/assessed and I should start seeing the credited amount on my next bill
