Trading iPhone. Anyway to verify carrier unlock and if paid off

im trading an iPhone through reddit. I have IMEI number from the other party and I’m trying to verify if it’s unlocked. I’ve ran it through some sites and everything checks out. But it’s unclear if it’s unlocked


Also is there a way to see if it’s paid off?

I’d say easiest way would be to swap sims out with a different carrier and see if it accepts it.. As far as it being paid off, you might try contacting the carrier the phone is using and ask..
