https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/voicemail-transcriptions-not-working-iphone-7-plus.2004391/I thought IOS 10 would feature transcribed voicemails? What happened?
If you don't have a 6S or newer, it won't work, which is stupid. My wife is enjoying this feature while I cannot....
Can't you do both?It transcribes them, but half of them are wrong. I would like to disable it and just listen to the voicemail how it really is, not how they think that it is. I would hate to miss some important information due to a transcribing error.
The voice part of it is original. If you don't like the transcription just don't read it.I would like to disable the transcription but have not found a way to do it yet.

Google is much better than Apple for voice transcription. For those who have used both: How does it compare to the transcription of Google Voice? For me, on GV it was a novelty and good for a few laughs on some transcriptions but it wasn't reliable or accurate. I turned it off.

No.So I am taking it that there is no way to actually turn this off?
It can be useful for things like phone numbers and something similar provided the other person says those things clearly. Also automated calls (like reminders about something or announcements) are usually transcribed fairly well as they are generally well prepared and thus done with more clarity and at a more appropriate pace than just someone leaving a message quickly.I like the voicemail transcription for when I'm somewhere that I can't listen to a voicemail. But it only gives me a general idea of who is calling and what they may need. The actual transcription is terrible, I have never had one even close to being a decent transcription of the actual voicemail.
