Another problem/issue here. Is there anyway that I can transfer a licensed copy of Microsoft Office for Mac (and some other apps) from one MBP to another? What wires would I need. Is this possible?

Since I'm assuming you don't personally own two MBP's, then this would be illegal.

However, you can use the built-in wireless, ethernet cables or firewire cables to do what you want.

restart one (Call it Computer B) while holding "T" and plugged into the other (Computer A) via firewire. Then Computer B will show up as an external HD on Computer A. Just copy like you would normally. Two copies of microsoft office will not work at the same time on the same network if they are lisensed to the same person. You can't have both copies of word open and be connected the internet at the same time. Otherwise this works.

I actually heard something interesting, can't remember where I heard it though. I also reading something about it in the EULA and found that it says you can install a copy of Office on one desktop and one portable device (eg notebook). If this is true, then wouldn't Microsoft not associate it with a desktop? It would just give the key out recognizing the device as portable and since it's never been recognized on a desktop, it would authenticate. It's how end users are able to install Office on other computers (that and Microsoft is a lot less Nazi about Office than it is Windows. I happened to use my old full version Windows XP w/ SP2 cd that I used to fix my mom's old computer up to install on my Macbook Pro to dual boot.
