Hello all. I've noticed that backup and restore this not include your call log or text messages. I backed up my iPhone and copied it over to a new phone, but while the apps and the contacts were there, past phone calls and text messages were not. Is it possible to make those over as well?

How did you back up your iPhone?
When creating a local backup using iTunes (and I suspect the same is valid for Finder) recent calls and text messages are restored to your new iPhone.
I can't say if the same is valid for iCloud backups as well.

Ok, weird then. Should work.
So you created a current backup of your old iPhone and restored that one to your new iPhone? Not an older backup?
And then recent calls and Messages were empty on the new iPhone, or outdated?
Could you provide more details (iPhone models, versions of iOS, Mac/PC iTunes version)?
I would simply try it again. New backup, and then restore.
And in iTunes make sure you have selected the "Encrypt iPhone backup" option for your old iPhone.

Yeah, something is wrong: I’ve done a restore from backup for pretty much every iPhone, and I have texts and everything else going back over a decade.

Try again.

Nope, failed twice now. Backed up the current phone, restored to another, no call log or texts. Using iTunes at default settings.

Ok that worked but the call history wasn't copied. Any idea how to do it?
