i got my remote desktop up and working thanks to a very very helpful person on this forum.....however, i am having problems shuttling files back and forth......i have the idisk utility for windows, but that is SO SLOW its unbearable for even a 100mb file. once i try copying something from idisk to itunes, it takes forever and freezes up itunes. yousendit.com only lets yuo do single files and not folders, and i cant just copy and paste from the remote desktop to my mac desktop......is there anything else i could do that would have faster data transfers?

Ok, I had to read your other post to know what you wanted to do. To transfer files a long distance, it takes time. You can setup your Mac to allow ssh connections, then remote into the PC and use SSH client to send files to your Mac. http://www.ssh.com/support/downloads/secureshellwks/non-commercial.html Once you have the PC sending files, you can close Remote Desktop, not log off, and you should be able to keep recieving the files you sent.

what is ssh? advantages? disadvantages?
Secure Shell. Its encrypted connection that is built into Unix like products like Mac OS X. Its mainly command line, but there are graphical user interfaces like Fugu on the Mac, and SSH client on the PC.
