My phone tried to update the other night and instead, went into factory reset mode. I hooked up to my PC which runs Vista (where my most recent backup was), but the software wasn't compatible with the new update and I was unable to restore my old backup to the phone. Long story short, I was locked out of my phone until I was able to restore from an iCloud backup from two years ago.
I talked with Apple, and they said I could manually transfer iTunes data and backups to a new computer. So I did. My problem is, the old backup isn't showing up in iTunes on the Mac. From everything I've read, it just says to copy and paste data from the PC, to an external drive, and to the desktop of the Mac. Is there something I'm missing? Some extra step I need to take to import the date into iTunes on the Mac?
