I have an iPod nano 2nd gen, it plays music and charges, but the screen and hold button are completely broken.

It isn't showing up in iTunes and I can't reset it or get it into disk mode as I assume the menu/select button isn't working.

Is there a way to get my macbook to recognise it?

I seriously don't know about how to get the mb to recognize it.

Sounds like it's had better days.

But if you don't already have the music on your computer,
I don't think there is a way to "grab" it off the ipod.
It's synced on there.

Good luck with it.
