Hi,

I just received my new 11 Pro and chose the direct transfer phone to phone just putting them next to each other. After a couple of hours and a tidious switch from eSIM old phone to new I am up and running. But: Right now the Photos app on the new phone is showing me 89k photos still to be uploaded. Why? They are not new, they exist in iCloud.

This will kill my batteries for the next couple of days and I just dont get it. Anybody has an idea what I could do?

If your using iCloud the photos do need to transfer over and they can't from the original phone as those are not the originals which are in the cloud

This seems to be the way it works. I don't think it is actually uploading the pictures again, but just verifying that the picture on the device matches the one from iCloud. It went pretty quickly through my 16K photos, but it seemed pretty clear that it wasn't actually uploading them (seems like it would have taken much longer).

I believe you can pause the process and tell it to wait until you are home and on power to continue.

Yes it seems to be done. Really wierd UX though. Scared me for a moment.

Thanks for the feedback!
