Hello everyone! I tried searching for this, but had no luck finding it... so I thought I'd make a new thread of it.

I'm buying a used iPad and it has an AppleCare protection plan on it. I've asked how I can acquire it through a transfer of the plan to me, but the seller simply said that I'd have to call Apple and request the change be made after I purchase the iPad from him.

Can anyone confirm this? Thanks for your ideas.

I believe apple care follows your device, not the owner. Double check this with a genius

You or the seller can make the call to Apple.

No probs ever transferring AppleCare. Just follow the directions and mail all required items to apple for the transfer...

Got it... thanks. First I'll have to find out what the required items are, but is there any way to check the status of the plan (to see if it completely transferred and whatnot)?
