Transfering AppleCare

This is just a little help before I sell my iMac G5 Rev. B off later this year. How exactly do you transfer your AppleCare to the new owner of your Mac? Are there forms in the AppleCare kit or is it web based. I had to sign the extended warranty form when I sold my old PC laptop.

Call the Apple Care tech support line, and you can probably ask one of the Tech agents if they could talk to one of the departments about getting it transfered to another person.

I just got mine for my iMac and was thumbing throught the papers that were included and did see instructions on how to transfer to the new owner. However if you dont still have the paperwork ... I will check back later when i get home and post the info for you.

9. Transfer of Plan

You may transfer this Plan to a new owner of the Covered Equipment. If you purchased the Plan in the U.S. or Canada, send or fax us notice of transfer with the Plan Agreement Number to AppleCare Administration, P.O. Box 149125, Austin, TX 78714-9125, U.S. (fax number 512-674-8125). You must provide the Plan's Agreement Number, the serial numbers of the Covered Equipment being transferred, proof of purchase of the Plan, and the name, address, telephone number and email address of the new owner.
