hello,

not sure if this is the right place to post, but i recently upgraded to a imac from a 3 yr old mbp. i want to transfer my iphoto pictures from the mbp to the imac. anyway i export them in such a way to have the same albums show up on the imac as they were on the mbp?

I think if you open your Pictures folder in your User folder, you'll see a iPhoto Library icon. If you copy that to an external hard drive, then copy it to your new iMac's Pictures folder, then open iPhoto. This should make every thing work just like the old Macbook Pro, after iPhoto updates the library a bit.

Note: Depending on the size of your iPhoto Library you may need a big-ish external hard drive.
