I resently got a new Macbook and I want to transfer all pictures (with keywords and ratings) and all my albums. I basicly want to see exactly what I have on my G4 iMac on my MacBook. My imac is running iphoto5 and my new mac has iphoto6. Ive tried copying all the files using target disk mode and ive tried importing them using a DVD I burned off my whole library. Neither way import my albums or keywords, I just get my photos. I dont want to have to go through 4000 photos and make new albums and add new keywords.

I know there must be a way to do it, can someone help me? Thanks.

Have you tried just copying the entire ~\Pictures\iPhoto Library folder? This should have your AlbumData.xml file and other library data, and thus should preserve your ratings and albums. I think this is probably the only way to get all of this information to change over.

Also, the Migration Assistant (Applications\Utilities) may be helpful.
