I got a replacement iPad as my co-worker has my old model. Question is how do I transfer my 3G account to my new one.

Swapping SIM cards is not an option.

I've done this but the only way to do this to swap the SIM card. All the information is on the SIM card only, nothing is actually in the iPad. If you can't swap the SIM card then it can't be done.

You probably should have switched SIM cards. That's like trading cars but forgetting to trade the keys. You need that old SIM back and he needs his back.

Yes, if the coworker has your SIM card, then they have your account active charging you. If you canceled the account then they can't use your SIM card to active their own account. They would need to purchase a SIM card from AT&T for $15 (assuming you are in the U.S.).

Awesome. I guess I can make it happen, the issue is the iPad has an Otterbox Defender on it and an Invisible Shield and the two have melded into one unremovable catastrophe. It's going to take some work to shoehorn the thing off of my old iPad.
