So I figured I would ask here to see if there is a nice and easy way to do this before venturing to Verizon CS...

My son's ipad Air 4th gen broke and won't turn on.. He had a cellular plan on it via Esim from verizon.

My wife bought him the new iPad Air M2.... Normally with any new phone or ipad i would just transfer data over from the old device and the esim transfers along with it. but in this case with the old ipad being dead I have to do an icloud restore.

My question is, will there be a way to transfer the Esim plan over without having to get Verizon involved? and if so how?

I had to do this going from 2018 iPad Pro to M4 iPad Pro. You definitely have to get on the phone with Verizon and give them the imei, etc… but it took only a few minutes.

Sorry…no way around it.
