I have some files on my work Lenovo Android tablet that I’d like to upload to Dropbox.

However, doing so on Android is laborious. I’d like to do it on my MacBook M1 but can’t find a way of transferring the files or getting access to the file system. Android File Transfer only appears to be available for Windows and OpenMTP doesn’t recognise my device.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Android File Transfer was available for macOS. It's still mentioned in Apple's documentation.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/104965
But in the last 2-3 months or so, Google repurposed the page for something else.
https://www.android.com/filetransfer/
You can still get Android File Transfer 1.0.507.1136 directly from Google
https://dl.google.com/dl/androidjumper/mtp/5071136/androidfiletransfer.dmg
or from https://mac.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Android-File-Transfer.shtml
It works on Sonoma 14.6.1, but it requires Rosetta.

Half a year ago, you could have used AFT. Now I use MacDroid, there are lots of alternatives, but here I'm impressed by Wi-Fi file transfer. Maybe other alternatives also have it, not sure.

Sorry you want to use drop box, I thought you wanted to transfer them.
