Transferring Files from Palm/Pocket PC

Hey guys,

I've had a palm treo and currently have a windows mobile mogul. I'm considering getting an iphone but before I make the move, I'd like to know how easy/hard it is to sync data from Windows Mobile to the iPhone.

Also, does anyone know of a way to sync data from Palm to the iPhone? I'm thinking of dumping my Mogul and going back to my Treo 700p, but I can't even figure out how to sync my Mogul files BACK to Palm after making the initial switch.

Ideally, I'd like to sync my info off of my WM device and onto the iPhone, then stop using PC's all together, and sync the iPhone with my mac once its all said and done.

I've googled as best as I could. I've been checking out The Missing Sync (markspace.com) but every just says how buggy it is, so I'd rather not spend $40 for a program that may not work.

This could make my mind up on whether or not to get the iPhone. (This and the potential sim unlock hack.)

I had a treo755p, the only way to sync your contacts is to put them on your computer, and then sync them through Itunes. there is no way to sync, or transfer files to the iphone to any other type of device.

Thanks man. Can I use the Palm Desktop software to just import all of my info off of my Treo 700p, then from there, transfer it to iTunes? If so, is it a hard process?

Well it would just be a two step process:

1. You need to get your Palm/Windows Mobile data into Address Book and Calendar.

2. Then you'll be able to sync iPhone and it will pick that info up.

So it sounds like you just need a good sync solution for your current handsets.

Ahhh, thanks Jocko! I was able to export my contacts/address and calendar information to Address Book and iCal very smoothly. I think the only thing I need now are my Memo's. Do you know of a way to export that information to a program that iPhone will use?

Thanks so much for your help. I just switched from Windows Mobile (HTC Mogul) back to Palm (Treo 700p) a few hours ago and now I'm really considering getting the iPhone because of you!
