I recently bought a new MBP 2018. I need transfer the passwords-keychains from old MB (mid 2009 version) to the new Mac. Can anyone suggest me the what I shall I do? I have already saved all keychains from old MacBook and added new keychain in the new MBP. but somehow safari is not detecting it.

I have never tried exporting and importing my passwords. So I have no experience with it.
iCloud always does the trick for me. But it sounds like you need to do this manually. By typing all the passwords in to the websites and saving them to the keychain.

And then for the future, make sure iCloud Keychain is on.

Edit: Or maybe a third party app like 1Password could do the trick?
