So I bought the iPhone 3G, and gave my original iPhone to my father. We want to get him set up with his account so he can stop using his RAZR. I realize that he needs a different SIM card than what originally came in the iPhone. Would it be possible to take the SIM card out of his RAZR right now (which is probably a year old by now) and put it in the iPhone, and then transfer his number to the iPhone. He already has AT&T, so it would just be a matter of compatible SIM cards, which i have read several things about. Any help would be amazing. Thanks

You should be able to keep the sims in each iPhone as is.

Just call AT&T and explain which account and number you want with each phone and they should be able to do the switch for you.

Ok, well I took the plunge and put my father's SIM card from his RAZR, put it in the iPhone, and set everything up through iTunes. Worked beautifully. All done. Thank you for your suggestion. :)
