Transferring SMS from Jailbroken 3g to Verizon 4S

Hey all,

I just upgraded to the 4S. Previously I've been running a 3G unlocked/jailbroken with iOS4.2.1 on tmobile. Now I want to sync my new 4S with my old data and make sure my SMS transfers over. Anyone have any tips about this?

When using a jailbroken backup file, does that affect the new phone? I don't want to mess up my new device, just want to make sure my files transfer properly.
