Hi,

I am trying to transfer my voice memos to my MacBook-- into normal files in a format like .mp3, or whatever; Something useable in a normal OS anyway, and with the possibility to add to an external HD etc.

I can only access the files within Music (iTunes), and can't seem to extract them out from there. I feel like I've tried every logical step, and I fear this might be one of those built in software vendor locks from Apple. Any help?

On a second temporary note, I am now for some reason also experiencing an issue to access the files on my MacBook: As I'm hooked up with my iPhone via cable to my computer-- I can see all my files, but now they're not even listenable. It's like their locked out of reach. My phone has not been prompted with personal code to grant access like normal. Any way to trigger this manually?

Thanks a lot!

If you use iTunes on your Mac you can 1.) just drag&drop a file from list view onto your desktop. 2.) If you want to convert the AAC file to MP3 you can do this within iTunes or Apple Music.

3.) If you have problems to transfer via iTunes or Music , select the recording within the Voice Memos app on your iPhone and use the share menu to save it to the Files app, or transfer it to your Mac or elsewhere using Airdrop or - if installed - e.g. SentItAnywhere, etc.
