Transition from...Difference?

I have a 2007 black macbook with specifications of 2.2 ghz, 2 GB of ram, x3100 gma graphics and 160 gb of hard drive.

Now, would I experience a big difference if I got the base 21.5'' iMac or the next one (ATI card)?

I'm trying to justify a purchase reason. My macbook is perfectly fine but I have looked at porn and don't know if it's slowed it down but I may just be infatuated with the iMac or just feel the need to buy something haha.

Watching porn shouldn't slow down because Macs are immune to viruses. iMac has faster CPU and GPU is also better and it can take much more RAM, but we need to know what do you do with your computer. If MacBook is fine for you, do a clean install of OS X and get an external monitor if you need more screen space.

I use my macbook for web-browsing, iTunes (music), microsoft word documents and sometimes movies.

First of all Macs are not exactly immune to viruses. people who make viruses just dont bother to write them for macs because there is not a large enough user base and they would pretty much be wasting their time. if Apple had the market share that Microsoft has there would be a plethora of viruses for the Mac. Secondly, if your MacBook is fine for your needs there is really no need to buy an iMac. I second the motion to just buy an external monitor, but if you have the cash and you really want the iMac just go for it.

There are NO VIRUSES for OS X but there are TROJANS. AFAIK Unix is immune to viruses too and OS X doesn't let you install something without admin's password, so basically a virus would do no harm. Just what I know of course

And yea, no need for iMac

OP,

If you don't need portability, the larger screen would be a godsend. Do you use your Mac for any pro-apps? If so, you'll definitely see a performance boost.
