Hi I want to get away from gmail and other Google related stuff.

What's the best way to get away from gmail and transition to iCloud. Forums, social networks etc are all pretty much registered with my gmail address.

Do you mean transfer all your emails from your @gmail.com address to your @icloud.com address?

ETA: I've transferred my Google services (contacts and calendar) to iCloud but I still primarily use Gmail. I will cease using my Gmail address in the next few days once I transfer my archived Gmail messages into iCloud. There's this article from a few years ago that explains the process: http://lifehacker.com/5850859/how-to-migrate-all-your-data-to-icloud-from-google-with-minimal-fuss

Thanks for the link.

Hi I just did that myself and it was pretty easy. But I'm thinking about keeping my gmail account for non personal stuff like Facebook, forums etc
