Transitioning to multiple Apple IDs

Currently my wife and I share a single AppleID, but I'm thinking of creating her a new one to ease a few things. My concern is how the iCloud photos and other things will work. Currently we have 200gb of iCloud storage tied to the Apple ID,and we really like how every picture we take with either phone shows up on the other phone, as well as when we import the pictures from our DSLR. We also like the synced calendar/tasks/notes. If i understand the transition correctly we will lose a lot of this by going to multiple ids. Has anyone gone through this process? Are there any work arounds? Advantages/disadvantages?

Will ios10 add anything when it comes to this?

Since I am not sure which thing you like to ease, all I know now is you can register an individual id to your wife for App Store and iTunes Store. Then she can buy her own apps, music, etc..

With two separate ID's it might be possible to do what you want via enabling the Family Share. It shares apps, calendar and I'm sure quite more things(never looked into it personally) For photos you could use the iCloud Photo Sharing option. For Notes, iOS 10 brings the ability to collaborate with multiple people on a single note. So that might work there.

Family Sharing probably fits the bill.

There's a shared photo album and calendar as part of the setup. Music, apps, and other App Store media are shared. Notes is the only thing not shared (and Contacts), but, can get apps that fit the bill that sync through Dropbox et al.

Sounds like using same Apple ID is the only way to keep everything synced. What are reasons for changing?
