According to what I have read in several places,

"There's a new Apple-designed Translate app that provides text and voice translations to and from 11 languages. An On-Device Mode lets languages be downloaded for on-device translations only, and a Conversation Mode speaks translations aloud so users can talk with someone that speaks a different language, and it automatically detects the language being spoken and translates appropriately."

Well, I have the latest public distrib beta on my iPad and I cannot find hide nor hair of this "translate" app. If it is actually included with the beta, exactly where is it hiding or how is it invoked?

Thanks!

iPhone only, from what I have seen. Makes sense, as tour more likely to be out on holiday with an iPhone than an iPad.

Precisely, Melancholy. Ansath's response is perfectly logical but if the case, Apple dropped the ball.

They should have it on iPad anyway. There are times when I wanna translate a text.

If you see the demo, it's made for conversational translations, not for copying & pasting text from other apps, when that can be catered for in other ways. It's Apple's app and they've chosen the usage for it as per their intention for it.

If you want it on the iPad, raise it with Apple, if there's enough demand, maybe they will change their mind.

I agree it should really be on the iPad. I would definitely use this at work a lot and being able to do it on the larger screen would be ideal. I also could see a use for it in education, which is a market they’re pushing the iPad into. Same goes for the calculator app...

edited to add that sending feedback on this would definitely be helpful.
