When I open the app on my iPhone XS running the latest beta, I cannot select languages at the top at all; the drop-downs seem inactive. And when I try to press the download languages prompt, the app crashes entirely.

I have downloaded two languages — confirmed in Settings – and yet the app will not work. I have also deleted and reinstalled the app. Has anyone else encountered this? Any solves?

Posted to Feedback also.

UPDATE: After doing this for 24 hours+, the app now allows me to get past this behavior—but it still will not translate, and the Mic button doesn’t respond to touch.

Mine won’t translate. It hears what I say in one language (it transcribes it) but no translations. (I have tried speaking both languages, and it won’t translate in either direction). Just a beta bug.

And last night—after doing absolutely nothing, I promise—the app is working. And it's quite cool, I might add!

Weirdly enough, iPadOS translate app works as intended and I can translate long paragraphs without issue. iOS 15 translate app OTOH, is dead for now.

On iPhone for me, the app has been really troublesome--not working more often than not--since its release.
