I recently got the G1 glasses:
Very meh. They use optical glass that messes with your vision. UI is poop. Relies on your phone for a lot of UI control, so um, why do I need the glasses. Display is meh.
Anyway 2 apps on it are super promising and potentially useful and frankly would be better on the Vision Pro.
First is translation. It listens to a speaker, shows it in the native language when you look up, and translated language when you look forward. Since there is no eye tracking or camera the UI is tolerable and useful yet still awful. With eye tracking and cameras you could see the Vision Pro doing this and even translating text at things you look at like google translate does for menus and street signs and stuff.
Second, GPS directions on a HUD are pretty useful too, but meek on the G1. However, you could see Vision Pro could do much more with augmented reality, literally providing you with a yellow brick road to follow.
Does anyone know if there are any good translate and gps apps on the Vision Pro?
