Anyone else notice that this does not work well? The rustling from a winter hat rubbing while walking is crazy amplified. Wonder if this use mode was actually tested...

I think you might be the only person who doesn't know that rubbing something on a microphone results in unpleasant sound.

Not disagreeing that it makes sense why it happens, but it wasn't obvious to me during purchase that the microphone placement makes it basically impossible to use this feature during winter months in colder climates. Thought others would want visibility to the issue as well.

And long hair rubbing on it. And strong winds. Wait until you're older and have to get hearing aids.

Interesting. But, if you turn off Transparency mode, it should work like original airpods - right?

Yes - turning it off of course makes the noise transfer issue go away, but then you are less aware of your surroundings since these seal around your was so you still have passive isolation.
