I signed up for yosemite a while ago, but i cant download it because i am stuck in a place with very slow internet atm.

Does anyone know if its possible to download it on a usb drive somewhere and then transfer it to my macbook later?

Yes, it's possible to download the Yosemite Installer with a other Mac onto a USB-Drive, see this Post. I had it done this way as Mavericks came out.

It's also possible to download the Yosemite Installer on a older unsupported Mac by using the Download-Enabler inside the linked 'Mac-Pro-Xserve.7z' from this Post.
