I hate the word "trash" and it bugs me every time it comes up on the screen.

Can I change the name of my t***h bin to rubbish bin and how can I do it?

Thanks all.:)

Doesn't it change automatically with the International settings?

Well, I ran through all those steps, but it wouldn't create the file on the desktop for me to edit. Does anyone know how else to rename the trash? Or if they're missing a step or something?

Try navigating to that file manually and then doing the rest of it. When you get to the Dock.app, control-click and select "View Package Contents." I have made it to the files they want copied and everything, but have no desire to change the name of my trash so I don't want to mess with it.

Sweet! It worked!

I had to manually replace the file as I couldn't get it to work through Terminal, but my Trash is now renamed. Awesome, thanks.

This is very easy if you use TextWrangler. Choose Open Hidden... navigate into the Dock.app as described, change the string, and save (you're prompted for admin password):

Like taking the forums home with ya? Haha.

Also, glad you could find the files you needed the way I suggested. Enjoy it! :D

Perhaps I should mention that i am running a1.9 GHz PowerPC G5 and that I have looked but can't find the bits you say I should open.

It's because I am stuuuupid:D

(is there a way of resetting the computer back to a previous date, just incase, you understand, just incase.)
