why did my trash icon on the dock turn green, not a big deal but I was j/w.

Green? Like the trash is green, or theres a green patch over it like a screen artifact?

Did you try restarting?
 
Do you have a screenshot?

On a side note, I've always (at least for as long as I can remember) labeled the trash can on classic Mac OSes green in tribute to Oscar the Grouch. Some people are less than appreciative when they find out I've done it to their machines...oh well, tough beans. Green trash cans...it's probably the #1 thing I miss about Classic. Those were the days.

Are you possibly referring to a Windows set up?
