I presently use a late 2012 rMBP and a late 2012 Mac Mini (only with 4GB RAM, dual-core i7 CPU version...). Both are now upgraded to Yosemite.
I have absolutely no issues when I want to erase the deleted items in the Trash Box in the MBP. I click on "Secure Empty Trash" and everything is wiped out pretty fast.
But NOT SO, in my Mac Mini. It takes around an hour (maybe even longer...) to wipe out mostly jpg files (say around 3-4.00 thousand of them, totalling again say 2 GB at the most...). The worse news is that I now have around 650GB of movies etc. already downloaded and stored in the HDD. I actually copied them into an external HDD and now want to clean Mini's HDD. Am I going to wait for minimum of 300-400 hrs, to finish this operation?
Sorry folks, I'm still an aged newbee for Mac, may still be asking stupid sounding questions but PLEASE HELP!!!
