hey guys been having this annoying problem with my new 17" powerbook. when i power it on the odd time the trash can will have a folder in there called recovered files. any idea whats going on? i have previously closed down the system correctly so it cannot be a cause of the powerbook suddenly been switched off.:confused:

This always happened to me also after a shut down or restart. I'm not sure why it happens, but I just empty trash and that's the end of it. Deleting it doesn't seem to create any problems.

Short answer: Nothing to worry about. Empty your trash.

Long answer (from memory): It's whatever was in your temp files at the last time you shut down the computer, that the OS didn't quite know what to do with, so it trashes it. Mac OS used to do this all the time in the pre-X area, and it was recently reintorduced. Still nothing to worry about. Empty your trash. ;)
