In anything - eg dragging a word document from finder to the trash can on my dock.
edit: my mistake, i am new to mac - not even bought the laptop yet - running it on my pc to get used to it first

The only times it asks for conformation is for deleting (uninstalling) applications, which i think is fair enough. i think text files etc are not prompted - thats better than xp where you have to change settings to turn off the warnings.
