Hello,
I have a folder in the trash that will not disappear.
Tried many ways to force empty and force delete (sudo rm and others...) but non worked.

The original location was on an external drive, and the folder created when I started to download something via torrent, but I had a problem so I cancelled the download and deleted the folder (It has another folder inside but other than that its empty - 0 bytes).

The thing is, when I disconnect the drive the trash indicates as empty and when connected back the trash again has this stubborn folder.
If I connect the drive to my other macbook the trash is empty.

What can I do?

was it a protected drive or created on another operating system or another file system? i.e. formatted to windows not mac

those sort of things can cause problems when you end up with only read rights not read/write

I have Tuxera NTFS, so I can write to NTFS, that not the issue.
I'm using that drive (with Tuxera installed) for a couple of years.

I have this happen to me as well..... mostly when I attach a file or image to an email. It will not let me delete the file until I close the mail program. Maybe something similar is happening to you.

If you have another Mac nearby try plugging it into that mac and see if that clears out the trash can or if you can empty it from there.

I had an instance when i worked for Apple AHA where the cx deleted a file from her TM backup and it wouldn't empty out of the trash can. Connected it to a different mac - problem solved.

Solved

It seems the problem was actually with Tuxera.
Switched to Paragon NTFS - problem solved.
