Trash takes forever to empty

The status bar will just sit at full for about 30 seconds, if not more, even if it's just one small word document.

Sometimes I'll even forget about it and half an hour later it'll make the empty sound.

Anyone else?

Make sure 'Empty Trash Securely' is not checked in Finder>Prefs>Advanced?

Go to your finder preferences and make sure "empty trash securely" is unchecked.
