This is the opposite question to another on the thread. We are going on vacation from the US to Canada and would like to use our iPad. I know the most expensive way is to buy the 3G AT&T plan, but is there a cheaper route do it?

Thanks!

Absolutely... btw the domestic AT&T iPad plans WILL NOT cover you whilst roaming in Canada or anywhere else in the world.

We have several providers in Canada that are offering iPad plans...

ROGERS - http://www.rogers.com/web/content/ipad-dataplans

TELUS - http://www.telusmobility.com/en/ON/ipad_plans/index.shtml

BELL - http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpWls_iPadPlans.page

**NOTE: Depending where you're visiting in Canada you may be better off going with a ROGERS plan (they have the most extensive data network in Canada right now). Telus and Bell have recently acquired a 3G (2100mhz) only signal but is not available in certain parts of the country. My advice would be to look at all of their coverage maps **

Canadian MicroSIM Availability

Canadian Apple stores will give you a Rogers or a Bell MicroSIM. (Not sure about Telus.)
According to Rogers, you can also get a Micro SIM at a Rogers store -- but they will charge you $9.99 for it.

Thanks. So, it looks like I would need to order a Rogers Sim card, which it looks like I can use online and then when I enter Canada, I can activate the iPad through Rogers and just sign up for one month's of service? There would be no way to activate that before then - right?

Heading to Rice Lake, which looks like it has good coverage.

Appreciate the help!
