Has anyone tried this, and does it work? I was considering grabbing a relative's 2G iPhone as backup since they won't be using it now that they also got a 3G iPhone like me. But before I have them mail it to me, I wanted to make sure that the 2G iPhone works with the 3G iPhone's SIM card.

Thanks!

Tried it and it didnt work. Annoyingly O2 didnt need to change my sim card as my existing one from my first iphone worked and I got 3G, but as soon as my old card deactivated and had to use the new one, when I put the sim card in my old iphone and got Sim error.

It did help me make my mind up though, as I was going to keep my old iphone as I still prefer it to the new one.

Sim error ?, Although that older iPhone should accept that sim card (My current iPhone has a 3g o2 sim card in it, it works fine)

Will confirm it when I get my 3g iPhone though.
