Every Apple & Best Buy store, in my area, is sold out, but the WiFi's were available. I guess I'll wait a while, because I don't want it delivered. Are the pretty much sold out everywhere? Plus how will they keep up with the International demand when they can't keep up with US demand?

I thought it was a "bad idea" for them to make the iPad?

Why would you think that? IF you're referring to the thread I made, then you clearly didn't read through the additional posts I made and you completely misunderstood what I was saying. Not that it should matter, but MacRumorsUser answered the question I was asking in that thread. :)

I walked into the apple store yesterday and exchanged my 64gb 3g ipad. I was in and out within 10 min.

I experienced the same thing when i purchased my first one a week before on the day they were released. I was in and out within 10 also that day.

Maybe its the region of the country that add to these shortages.

I'm from chicago and everyone i know that wants one has one.

None in Beverly Hills, Costa Mesa or San Diego and the Best Buy guy did a search from Southern California to Las Vegas; still nothing.

At least make this thread useless and post your location or the stores you visited. Otherwise this should be in wasteland.

They were still sold out at the Reston Apple Store on Thursday. By the way, I asked what the most popular model was. The guy thought about it, and I got the impression there wasn't one overwhelmingly obvious answer, but after consideration, he said 64gb 3g. I mention that in regards to the 16gb conspiracy theories :)

As someone said, stock that could be going to finishing off the U.S. pent-up demand and "now that it's launched" impulse buys is instead going into crates headed to London and elsewhere in Europe, so that launch will be adequately supported. Same reason the wifi model was hard to find before 3g launched here. Apple's suppliers can build a finite number of models, and it doesn't matter what capacity they are, if they're 3g or wifi, and if they're U.S. or Euro. The bottlenecks are number of production lines, and number of screens. Once pent-up demand is satisfied, I think they'll be able to keep up with demand just fine even if it continues to sell briskly.
