Tried to jailbreak 2.1 but cant restore or restart!

K so I have t mobile and i need 2.1 jailbroken and unlocked. so i did the quickpwn 2.1 already ,on my phone, and instead of restarting, my phone went to the restore screen and said i need to go to itunes to restore. itunes says i dont have the right sim card,(obviously) . So then i tried to do it on my mac. i used the pwnage tool 2.1 on it and it created a recovery file. all was going great then i went to restore the phone in itunes (by hitting the option key) but it said, unknown error 1600. ugh! I am pissed cause i have spent like 6 hours on this! HELP! Can i just not do it cause i have t mobile? I am stuck on the restore screen

Maybe try replacing the T-Mobile SIM card with the AT&T SIM card that the iPhone came with for the jailbreaking 2.1 process and then switch them back?

i would but cant cause bought off craigslist and never even owned an att sim card.
