Tried WP8 For the First Time...

... and despite all the hate toward MS's interpretation of the "flat" design, I really like the direction they're going with the Metro look, the efficiency of the live tiles, and the ability to expand tiles like some of the iOS 7 concepts I've seen. In fact, after iOS I'd consider it the #2 mobile OS on the market IMO. Now, I wouldn't actually get a WP8 phone being so tied in to the iOS/OS X ecosystem and seeing as app selection is severely limited, but I just wanted to point out that while a lot of people on these forums seem to want iOS to move closer to Android, I'm hoping they took MS's approach when designing iOS 7.

Its a great "start", but they need to pick up the pace. And if things dont change with Windows Phone Blue, I have lost faith in Microsoft. I love Windows Phone; now that it has "Itsdagram" for Instagram, the only apps I REALLY want is SnapChat followed by Waze (Awaiting the Beta right now).

Its just a bad direction when your updates barely bring anything new to the table when you are already behind the competition. 8 months into WP8 and 3 years into WP and they've barely added anything. Luckily they laid the foundation properly though so the experience it does provide is top notch.

Congrats on the level headed view BTW, always nice seeing platforms judged fairly.

I hated the live tile interface. Just not for me.

I guess my only choices are iOS, android, or BB10.

If you ask most it's the tiles that are a eye sore.

It took a bit of time to adjust to the tiles but now I miss them. The only thing I miss about my HTC 8X is the design of the OS. Everything else sucked in comparison to iOS and Android.

I find it gets cluttered really fast. It also has a really terrible web browser (no, it's not equivalent to desktop IE10 and has downright boneheaded settings).

I've been using Windows Phone for nearly two years and I really like it. The main problem as I see it is Microsoft is slow to update and add new features. The app selection is growing fairly quickly and I think for such a small platform it has a good selection of apps. I'm probably going to go back to android until Windows Phone becomes more refined unless the next update adds a lot of the needed features to the platform.
