Is it possible to trigger the iPhone alarm clock to go off using HomeKit automation? I want to trigger an alarm to go off when a door sensor is triggered.

What I am trying to solve is that I want to be aware of when my 2 year old son wakes up in the morning and opens the door from his room. I have a homekit compatible door sensor. I am sleeping in another room. If he wakes up, opens the door and goes out to the kitchen for example, I want to wake up by some kind of alarm.

If not, any other suggestions how to solve it?

you can definitely get a notification, but it might not wake you up, as it's not very loud.

1 - if you've got an appleTV or HomePod and Apple Music, you can start music playing with a homekit automation. (this won't work without Apple Music, since you can't select what to play)
(and if it's an appleTV, it needs to be able to control the TV via HDMI, so the TV comes on when the music starts)

2 - if you don't have those, the next easiest would be to get a "smart outlet" and plug an old radio into it (or anything else that would wake you up) (has to be an old radio, so it comes on when you plug it in)
and then make an automation that turns on that outlet

you can even add timing to either of these automations, "if Jr's door opens between 6am and 9am, then turn on xxx device"

3 - or, on the screen where you pick the devices to control, go all the way to the bottom, and convert to shortcut
sadly it appears the only thing you can really do is open a URL, so you would need something you can control with a web call.

in regular shortcuts, you can play music, but it seems that homekit shortcuts don't have that option.
you can even do this without apple music, as it lets you do tune in radio also.

Thanks for your suggestions. I really wanted to use the iphone alarm since I always put my phone into do not disturb during night but when I realised that it was not possible to invoke the alarm in anyway, I thought of your option 3. Was thinking about building some service to call in my automation but the problem is that I couldnt find any any device with support for an api call. Do not want to have a raspberry pi or computer next to my bed.

Anyway, I just found a siren from d-link that just plugs into the outlet. Not homekit compatible but I have homebridge running in a docker container and found a plugin for that so will probably try that out.

I actually came across another option last night.

There is a program called homebridge, it's a homekit emulator, so you can make lots of non-homekit stuff work in homekit.
There are lots of plugins for pretty much every device. (cameras, `TVs, roombas, thermostats, and the like)
There is a plugin for pushover, which will allow you to make a virtual device, that when turned on, will send an alert to your phone, and you can designate that alert as priority, so it will sound even if your phone is muted or in DnD.

Homebridge does require a computer to be running all the time, (windows, Mac or linux.) and if you don't need cameras, there is an image for raspberry pi. (it doesn't have enough processor for cameras)
it's easier to setup now, and some graphical front end options, but you need some basic "geek skills"

pushover also has a few different ways to trigger it besides homebridge. so you might want to check it out.

You can make the automation to change the settings on your phone. When triggered: turn off DND, set volume to 100%, text "Wake up!", speak text, repeat 10x.

Something like that, you get the idea (I hope)
