Looks like iOS 13 removes the "Trim Original" and "Save as New Clip" options when trimming a video. Can anyone else confirm this? Was just trying to trim a long video and don't need to keep the original, but in iOS 13 it's not prompting for those options.

I noticed the same. For now, I just duplicate the video, then trim.

I tried that too, but noticed that the duplicated video still allows it to be reverted to full length.

Been like that since beta 1 unfortunately. I liked those options and they made sense. Trim the original if you want, or save as new clip. Now we are looking at non-destructive edits whether or not we want it - not very storage-savvy, in my opinion.

Non-destructive video edits is an awesome way to use up iCloud storage haha.

A toggle for this function to be on or off would be great. I can see it’s value, but when I’ve got Gb’s of video and I’ve trimmed it to just the short clip I want, I don’t want it all sitting there taking up space.

Quote from Apple:
"Nondestructive video edits

Video edits are now nondestructive, so you can remove an effect like a filter or undo a trim to return to your original video."

thanks for the clarification. I thought this was just a beta glitch. I’d wondered why iMovie was seeing the original clips.

does anyone know how to then implement true trims of video files since the old/easy way has now been adjusted to keep the entire content intact? i mean, short of exporting to an external editor and then reimporting...
