everytime i start up Trine 2 it gets way too hot to touch or let it sit on me. even if i put it on a desk the laptop gets rediculous hot to use the keyboard. BUT if i play a game of league of legends its fine, it gets warm of course and the fans kick in but nothing makes the laptop get as hot as Trine 2 for some reason. is there a memory leak somewhere or anything like that ? does anyone else have or seen reports of this issue ? thanks

Different programs will cause different levels of heat. It all depends on how hard its pushing the laptop. This does not mean there is anything wrong with Trine 2, just that its pushing the machine harder.

If you really want to keep the temps at a minimum... Apple is NOT very aggressive about spinning the fan up. I use SMCFanControl to manually spin my fans up to maximum before I start any game I know is going to push it to the max. Apple default cooling will keep spinning the fans up and down and let the temps get a lot hotter, as Apple seems to think less fan noise and higher temperatures are preferred... or assume that most of the time a machine is pushed that hard its temporary for a short period... I don't think many of the Macbook engineers play games on them or push them very hard.
