Hey guys,

Im looking for a viable option to triple boot these 3 os's. First off, do not start with do you own leopard, because i do (so i have the original disk). So now thats out of the way, is there any wya to do this. From what i see with boot camp, partitioning on the fly is a viable option in mac os x since boot camp does this. But boot camp only splits the drive into 2. Is there any way to make three partitions either using boot camp (prob not) or use something else to make the drive ready for a small partition of xp and a small partition of leopard, in addition to the larger partition of Tiger, all without reformatting the entire drive?

Thanks,

Daniel

Bookshop!
There are ways of doing it without reformatting, but they can sometimes be dangerous.

Whats probably best to do it back anything important up to an external HDD, reformat the internal HDD, and put everything back on. That way, you don't loose settings etc., but you can easily partition the HDD.

Hope i helped :)

SInce you obviously have your hands on an Alpha Or Beta version of Leopord I would not install on your main hard drive. When Tiger Beta was released and I got my copy I didnt install it on my main HD. I would install it on an external and boot from there. I wouldnt want to depend on a beta or have a chance of it effecting my main drive. I plan on doing the same thing when I receive my beta of Leopord. So that is one other idea.

Thanks for you advice guys. I have 2 questions.

1. What programs would i use to (as safely as possible) repartition the drive into 3 (from 2, OSX and boot camp)

2. What programs (or how without any programs) do i make a full disk copy of my osk so i dont have to reinstall, and all i would have to do is just drop what i have on my extrnal back onto the main drive?

Thanks,

Daniel

1) Use the original disk that came with your mac (there should be a Utilities option that opens DiskUtility).

2). Try Cabon Copy Cloner: http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html

Sorry you seem to have misunderstood me, which program will allow me to (as safely as possible) partition my drive into 3, without deleting any of the os's or files already on it, something to the likes of partition magic for the pc.

I don't know how BootCamp works when partitioning drives, but couldn't you split the drive so that the current OS X install only takes up about 33% of the drive? Then you may be able to split the other partition with Disk Utility into 2 partitions and install Leopard and XP

im no expert, but terminal has fdisk built in to it, there could be a way of 3 way partitioning through there, and then you can set what partition to boot into, also insanely mac and osx86project have a lot about dual / triple booting, maybe check their forums, its not all on windows machines.
