Hi,

i want to get the new MBP 2021 14inch MAX version, mostly for work.
I've read that the MAX chip will support up to three 4k external monitors.

I am currently searching for monitors which will meet my requirements.
The perfect solution would be three 27inch 4k monitors connected to the MBP
with just one (USB-C/Thunderbolt) (or two) cable(s) and that the MBP also gets charged.
During my research i've found the following 27inch 4k monitors with USB-C
which are around my price range (around 500$ max):

1) Philips 279C9
2) LG 27UN83A
3) LG 27UL850-W
4) Asus PA279CV

But i think none of them supports daisy chaining, so how should i connect these (or others) to the mac?
Is there any solution to connect three monitors with just one cable to the mac? (+ charging)
Does anybody has three external monitors connected to their MBP, if yes, how and which ones?
Or does anyone has a suggestion which monitor setup would meet my requirements?
(I am also open for a docking station but i would prefere to not get another device)

Thanks in advance for your help!

No, unless you use an eGPU (which M1 Macs do not support) or a MST hub (which macOS does not support) or DisplayLink (which uses USB for video which is ok for some tasks but not for gaming or video).

A Thunderbolt hub or dock can connect two displays. The most useful may be a Thunderbolt 4 hub since it supports USB-C and Thunderbolt displays and gives an extra Thunderbolt port. The least expensive might be a Thunderbolt 3 to dual DisplayPort adapter (find one that supports DisplayPort 1.4 for future compatibility).

Thanks for your quick response!

But am i right that it should work if i connect two montiors to the mac with USB-C and then daisy chain one of them with the third monitor? I would then have two USB-C cabels (monitors) connected to my mac (which will also gets charged) and the third monitor is connected to one of the others through daisy chain. If this would be possible i just need to find a daisy chain enabled monitor in my price range.

You cannot daisy-chain DisplayPort/USB-C monitors. macOS doesn’t support the type of MST required for that.

Hi, thanks for your response. Hmm, i think i will then connect the three monitors directly to the macbook.
Any suggestions for good 27inch 4k monitors? Does anybody has one of the monitors i mentioned in my initial post?
