Awesome!! I just saw the movie and these are very good Lego models of the movie characters. Next up, you should do an animated feature using them, like Lego Star Wars. :D

Lol! Thats awesome!!! Now I want to fire up Maya and make something too but I can't. I need to work on learning OpenGL :/

I agree with the above poster though you should rig them and make an animation! That would be awesome (although TONS of work)

Got an email from Lego...

Dear Aaron,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I think your Tron LEGOcy would make a brilliant LEGO® set, but for legal reasons we can't use it which is a big shame, your designs are fantastic!

We have a team of experts in Denmark whose job it is to dream up new LEGO sets, themes and toys. They tell me it actually takes years to plan everything. They need to test all the new ideas, talk to the factory about how to make them, work out what sort of box is needed and then deliver the new sets to all the shops in 130 countries! This means that there's a good chance they're already working on something similar to your idea.

LEGO® Model Designers usually go to college or university and study 3-D Arts. Some have also studied architecture, industrial design, theatre design or even sculpting!

Actually, if you're interested in becoming a Designer the best thing to do is play with LEGO sets as much as you can. Try building something as realistic as possible. When we meet people who want to become designers we often ask them to build a small head in four hours. It's not as easy as it sounds!

Being a LEGO Model Designer is a lot of fun: you get to work all over the place and meet new people. One day you might be building a huge castle at LEGOLAND and the next you could be making a tiny pigeon for Trafalgar Square!

Can you imagine a better job?

Thanks again for getting in touch.

Happy building and happy New Year!

Best regards,
Anne Mette Burke

Brilliant, great work!

Just spent time over Christmas playing with Lego with my nephew - some things never become boring :)

Cool letter in reply from Lego too.
