Comrades! Your beloved El Presidenté is in need of external beta testers to make Tropico 4 worthy of his greatness. If you’re willing to put the game through its paces, report any issues and are running OS X 10.7.5 or later, shoot us an email at elpresidente@feralinteractive.com. Precedence will be given to loyal citizens with proof that they’ve played Tropico 3. Gracias!

I actually was just looking into this series last night. Was looking for a game to play and this series caught my eye.

I just saw Tropico 4 on the Mac App Store. It's been a lot of fun--I'm so thrilled that it's been released for mac (and just in time for my new macbook).

I've been a fan of the Tropico games since the original and I love how the spirit of the game and the gameplay have been kept intact. I hate it when games pile on the 3D graphics, eye candy, and spec intensive features at the expense of the game itself (I sort of feel that Civ IV did this).

I've played the Windows version, so I can say that this port is a solid job and every bit as great and smooth to play. I was worried that my macbook is at the top end of the specs with the HD4000, but even with video settings bumped up to high, it runs nicely.

Thanks Molly we worked hard on optimising the game, glad you are enjoying it!

Great game. Been enjoying it a little too much recently. Wonder if this will make it onto Steamplay.

We have no plans for this to be a SteamPlay title for the foreseeable future. We always review decisions but I would not be holding out for SteamPlay as it might never come.

Just to explain this release is not like XCOM that came to Steam shortly after the other platforms. XCOM was the first Feral steam game, in the future if a new game is coming out on Steam as well we will ship with Steam from the first day alongside other stores.
